Study and swimming…

This weekend has been full of inspiration. Once a month, the homeopathy school I am studying with runs their teaching weekend, at the moment via zoom. The tutor for this weekend has been (as they always are) fascinating in his knowledge and philosophy, our weekends are always fairly mind blowing, and mentally exhausting in a brilliant way. Connecting with my classmates and tutor even via the internet has been a blessing, with human connection seeming to be at a premium for many in these covid stricken times.

I also managed to swim each morning in the sea, something I love and benefit hugely from, but don’t get to do as often as I would like. The fresh morning air, mingled with sea mist, those first steps into the cold water, catching my breath as I go deeper, squealing as I take the plunge! Those first couple of minutes that are sort-of painful, before the bliss comes! The thrill of the chill and the beauty and buoyancy of the water holding me – it is a tonic, it is life enhancing, it restores calm and clarity, and brings me back into my body rather than dwelling within my head where thoughts, ideas, and ‘must do’s’ are whizzing around in a swirling frenzy.

I hope that somewhere during your weekend, you have also been able to find a moment or two of restorative calm, and have been able to do something you enjoy.
